| Description | <br>Dastak is a collection of short stories by Asim Butt, written over the period of 12 years and published in famous literary magazine like Funoon & Sawera (Pakistan) and Shab Khoon (India). Shams-ur-Rehman Farooqi (India) and Mansha Yaad (Pakistan) admired writing skills of the writer and his stories of this very book. have gone through a few stories. no doubt these are fantastic. especially the one about an event happened in a rainy day.
I have just read the first two stories of"DASTAK."They are not at all inspiring to any serious reader.To understand my point I shall only give one example,just look at the SIMILES used for women in the second story"ISHTIHARI."If the opening is like this(showing the vast vocabulary or may the point of view of the writer)then what would be the condition of the whole book?????This style may sell the book book but cannot appeal huge masses.THANKYOU
